We are looking to add a flat work laborer to our growing team at Paramount Builders d/b/a Axis Concrete out of Bismarck, we combine our local roots with industry-leading technologies to build unique homes and commercial buildings throughout North Dakota.

At Axis, you’ll be more than an employee – you’ll be a valued part of the team. By embracing our team culture and safety standards, flat work laborer candidates must be willing to learn all aspects of setting and pouring flat work.

Reports to: Flat Work Forman

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift a manageable weight
  • Ability to take direction from their foreman, lead men and finishers
  • Ability to operate a shovel, concrete rake, sledgehammer etc
  • Ability to operate power tools
  • Ability to push a wheelbarrow
  • Pound in grade stakes
  • Shovel sand and other materials where needed
  • Place concrete where needed
  • Set forms for driveways, sidewalks, steps, patios, parking lots, basement floors and garage floors
  • Good time management
  • Maintain and care for all equipment
  • Keep equipment clean
  • Flexibility to work long hours when needed

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Candidate(s) must be able to drive company vehicles.
  • Candidate(s) must have a driving record clear of any violations involving drugs, alcohol, controlled substances, etc. within the past 48 months.
  • Candidate(s) cannot have a suspended or revoked license.
  • The ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and plans.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

We are looking to add a concrete finisher to our growing team at Paramount Builders d/b/a Axis Concrete out of Bismarck, we combine our local roots with industry-leading technologies to build unique homes and commercial buildings throughout North Dakota.

By embracing our team culture and safety standards, concrete finishers must be able to use all types of finish tools and power trowels. Additionally, concrete finishers must be competent in setting up and pouring all aspects of flatwork.

Reports to: Flat Work Forman

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift a manageable weight
  • Ability to determine elevation and grade
  • Set pour and finish all types of steps
  • Pour and finish broom work
  • Pour and finish hard trowel floors
  • Figure correct cuts in broom and hard trowel flat work
  • Train new finishers
  • Ability to problem-solve during the finishing process
  • Maintain and care for all finish tools and equipment keeping equipment clean and operable
  • Good time management
  • Flexibility to work long hours when needed

We are currently seeking a Skilled Carpenter to join our team and enhance the overall beauty and functionality of our projects.

As a Skilled Carpenter, you will play a critical role in adding the final touches to our construction and remodeling projects. Your expertise in woodworking, meticulous attention to detail, and commitment to delivering superior craftsmanship will contribute to the success and satisfaction of our clients. You will work closely with our team to bring our clients’ visions to life, creating stunning finished spaces that exceed expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Install and finish various woodwork elements, including trim, molding, doors, cabinets, staircases, and other architectural features.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate execution of carpentry work.
  • Utilize a wide range of tools and equipment to measure, cut, shape, and join materials to achieve precise finishes.
  • Collaborate with the team to plan and execute carpentry projects effectively and efficiently.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly cared for and stored.
  • Perform accurate measurements and calculations to determine material requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and other team members to ensure project goals are met and client expectations are exceeded.
  • Provide recommendations and solutions for design-related challenges to optimize aesthetics and functionality.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and advancements in finish carpentry techniques.

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Skilled Carpenter or similar role with a focus on fine woodworking and finishing.
  • Solid understanding of different wood species, their characteristics, and appropriate usage.
  • Proficiency in using a wide range of woodworking tools, both hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, methods, and installation procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in executing carpentry finishes.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, depending on the project requirements.
  • Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to find creative solutions.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and interact with clients.

As a Carpenter Laborer, you will work alongside our skilled carpenters and construction team to assist in various tasks related to building and renovation projects. This hands-on role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions. Responsibilities:

  • Assist carpenters with the setup and preparation of construction sites, including carrying and organizing materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Perform basic carpentry tasks, such as measuring, cutting, and shaping materials under the supervision of experienced carpenters.
  • Assist in the installation, assembly, and dismantling of temporary structures and formwork.
  • Assist in the framing, roofing, and siding activities, ensuring accurate measurements and alignment.
  • Operate hand and power tools, following safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Assist in the installation of doors, windows, and hardware.
  • Assist in the installation of cabinetry, countertops, and other carpentry finishes.
  • Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment to ensure a safe and organized construction site.
  • Follow established construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations at all times.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to quality workmanship and attention to detail.

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the construction industry, preferably in carpentry or related fields, is preferred but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry techniques and construction materials.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools, as well as their safe operation.
  • Willingness to learn and expand knowledge of carpentry principles and techniques.
